DEATH OF FAMOUS ULSTERMAN

RIGHT HON. T. SINCLAIR PASSES AWAY.

SKETCH OF STRENUOUS LIFE.STAUNCH DEFENDER OF UNION.

It is with feelings of deep regret that we announce the death of Right Hon. Thomas Sinclair, D.L., which took place to-day at his residence, Hopefield, Antrim Road, Belfast, after a prolonged illness. Some time ago Mr. Sinclair was prostrated by a severe attack of pneumonia, from which he never really recovered. His strength returned sufficiently to enable him to venture out occasionally, but several months ago, he again became seriously unwell, and after a period of increasing weakness, the end came very peacefully to-day.Mr. Sinclair had a relapse early in the week, and for several days had been in the valley of the shadow, and it was known that there was little hope of his ever being able to leave bed again.

The deceased gentleman was attended during his last illness by Dr. J. J. Austen, Clifton Street, Belfast, Surgeon Kirk being called in as consultant.
